Background

Ricard Villà graduated in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain, in 1970, and received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain, in 1983. In 1977, he become an Assistant Professor at the Technical University of Catalonia, where, since 1984, he has been an Associate Professor. He has been involved in industrial electronics, astronautical mission planning, and control systems.
